Every year in April, the largest sporting event in northern Greece, the Alexander the Great International Marathon, is held, which this year had a special significance as it celebrated its 20th anniversary.

The long distance running project team was present, led by Antonia Stelikou. Antonia took 3rd place in the women's 10km race with a time of 40’49”.

Nikos and Fotis Giannousios, Konstantinos Kounnas, Christos Kavouras, Kostas Anthopoulos and Alexandros Lykouretzos competed in the marathon. 

Nikos, Fotis, Christos and Alexandros had an excellent race. Nikos, Fotis and Christos set a personal record with the first two and sub 3 while Alexandros got the best possible result in his debut at the distance. 

During the race, Kostas and Konstantinos encountered various problems with the latter being unable to complete the race.

Unfortunately, despite the excellent condition Christos Lamaris was in, a personal problem that occurred two days before the start did not allow him to compete.
